On Thursday, Natalie and I hosted the October Kinfolk Dinner in celebration of their new cookbook, The Kinfolk Table. We had mismatched chairs, a dinner table made same-day by J. Rusten, wine from Bluxome Street Winery, the most delicious food by Chef Nicole Poirier (her pot de creme was to die for), a sweet birthday surprise, living centerpieces by Lila B. Designa string of funny coincidences, vintage cookbooks lent from Omnivore Books, candlelight galore, and records playing in the background.

Our group was small and everything was simple. The real focus was the people and the food-- a surefire recipe for a wonderful evening.
