As I write this from 30,000 feet in the air, I'm on my way to Europe to participate in the 2014 DaVinci Wine Storyteller Experience. I'm still incredulous that I've been chosen to participate in a week of learning about chianti and the DaVinci story in the tiny town of Vinci in Tuscany. I can't thank DaVinci enough for sponsoring such an amazing opportunity. And while I could list a billion reasons why being selected means so much to me, these are top of mind:
I've mentioned this before, but Florence is the first place that felt like home away from home. To have the opportunity to go back, even for just a few days, makes my heart so happy.
Although I've been able to visit Florence and parts of Tuscany before, learning about the history of chianti and food culture through the lens of the DaVinci Storyteller Experience will bring such a new perspective. I have a feeling that this might be like seeing home through brand new eyes.
A New Start
As serendipity would have it, this trip marks the beginning of my plunge into the world of freelance photography. After years of moonlighting as a photographer, I'm diving in head first and making it my full-time hustle. It's scary and exciting and sometimes I can't breathe, but it feels like the universe is telling me it's about f'ing time.
