So, where do you live?
Mostly Portland, Oregon, with frequent visits to San Francisco and a lot of time on the road, if I have any say in it.

Is that your real name?

Why do you travel?
Sometimes I feel so much, I don't understand how it all fits in one heart. When I travel and see things for the first time, I think about how it's new to me but home to someone else. Or I think about the last time I was there and how I'm both different and the same person since then. And if I'm lucky, it might feel a bit like home for me someday, too. Knowing that all of those things can coexist tells me there's so much that I don't know-- that I won't ever know. But that they're worth seeking, if only to borrow moments. There's a universe at our front door. We just need to take the first step.

How can you afford to travel?
A lot of luck and a lot of persistence. I'm very fortunate to travel for work but I also work to travel. I have a post coming soon with specifics, but it comes down to two things: first, that I don't like to spend a lot of money and second, that I make travel a priority. I think they go hand in hand. I wear the same clothes over and over again. I only eat out with friends or for special occasions. I hate buying anything new if I can get it second hand. These pennies might seem trivial, but they add up. Each dollar I don't spend on coffee here is a dollar toward coffee somewhere else.

Can you give me any recommendations on things to do in ____?
Yes! I love doing this. I'm working on a series of posts to share my favorite places everywhere I've been but in the mean time, please feel free to get in touch!

Will you photograph my wedding?
I'd love to! Let's chat.

What's included in your wedding package?
My wedding package is simple-- it includes wedding day coverage beginning right around the time you're getting ready and wraps up after an hour and a half of dancing. I don't shoot hourly because I want to tell the entire story of the day.  Of course, I'm always happy to customize my coverage for your needs, but this is usually the sweet spot. High res photos will be edited and delivered within 6-8 weeks.

Do you use a second shooter?
Sometimes, but mostly not. I've found that I'm able to cover what I need shooting alone but if a second shooter is a priority for you, we can make it happen.

How many photos will we receive?
Although this varies depending on the day, I generally deliver around 600-800 photos per wedding.

Do you have insurance?

We're nervous/terrible/awkward in front of the camera. Will it show?
Perhaps it's the photojournalist in me, but I aim to capture people and moments in their most natural environments. I've found that by encouraging settings and interactions that feel more comfortable, you'll feel more at ease to be yourself-- which always translates to genuinely beautiful photos.

We're eloping/having a tiny ceremony/having the wedding you've always dreamed of photographing, can you work with a smaller budget?
You bet. I have special packages for elopements or if you're planning something extra small or extra rad. Let's talk!
